As all of you know, my dear husband SC, otherwise known as Santa Claus, has been working feverishly for the past few months in preparation for the big day. As the lady of the house, my work began well in advance of the “most wonderful time of the year”.
Every year before he and his helpers start their planning, I assemble a team of my own and work on our season kickoff event: The Santa’s Helpers Gala. This event brings together the top toymakers from across the globe that have been selected to assist the elves with fulfilling the toy orders (don’t believe the hype, my dears, the elves don’t do it all themselves…).
Anyway, my team and I take care of everything from designing invitations and managing RSVPs, planning the menu, seating arrangements, to décor. I also have to ensure that the elves have gotten properly fitted for their new uniforms, if there is one thing I absolutely do not tolerate its sloppy attire. These things aside, there is lots of jolliness and merriment, the egg nog is just right and I make sure the band sticks to the playlist. This is the last opportunity for the boys to unwind before the real work starts, so I go out of my way to make sure they have a delightful time. This year’s gala certainly did not disappoint, if I do say so myself. Because I appreciate my husband so much, I always give him his gift just before the fireworks finale; this year I assembled his favorite Christmas letters into a keepsake book
(I just adore DIY and crafts!). His favorite part of getting ready for Christmas is reading the letters he receives from children all over the world; he absolutely loved it.
Well now, it’s time for me to go, the list still has to be finalized. Be good and Merry Christmas dears! 🙂
