Don’t Forget to Plan your Networking..

Yes, you do need a plan, and I know you have a lot to do, so I can sum this up in two words: SHOW UP.

The most important aspect in networking is to show up. It’s pretty difficult to meet new people and make business connections from your couch. Your confidence is boosted as soon as you walk in the door.

Once you’re there, continue to show up by presenting your best self. Be engaging, listen actively, introduce people, make your mark on every person you come in contact with. It will pay off, trust me.

Get out there and meet some people!!!!!

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”  ~ Charles “Tremendous” Jones

What to Expect When You’re….

“To keep your marriage brimming, with love in the loving cup, whenever you’re wrong, admit it; whenever you’re right, shut up” ~ Ogden Nash

You met. You fell in love. You’re getting married. Congratulations! While you’re all abuzz getting wedding plans in place, I hope that you are also thinking about the actual marriage and what comes with it. There are a few things that you should probably start wrapping your mind around now.

First, your spouse will have expectations. Certainly there will be those mutual expectations of loyalty, honesty, supportive, and the other things that your vows will cover. However, if you’re going to be expected to do all of the cooking and you can’t boil water, this is worthy of a discussion…and maybe a few cookbooks.

Second, your spouse won’t always listen to you. (I know, you didn’t want that getting out…) There is going to come a time when your favorite show/biggest game of the century will be on and your spouse will walk in at that very moment and want to discuss the meaning of life. Chances are they’re not listening at all.

Lastly, and this is the MOST important thing to expect when you’re getting married. Your spouse is not perfect, and neither are you.

Again, congratulations on your pending nuptials, remember to call your planner regularly (smile), and after the big day don’t sweat the small stuff.

Are You too Proud to Beg (for Pics)?

The primary reason for hiring a photographer for your event is to ensure that every moment is captured–all of the laughs, love…and line dancing.  Because you’ll have your hands full being the fabulous host that you are, you don’t have time to worry about the photographer missing a fabulous moment that happened at Table 7 while he was on the other side of the room. However, you can bet your last margarita that your guests will also be clicking away on their own picture-capturing devices, highlighting a different aspect of the evening altogether.

So  instead of begging, borrowing, or stealing those pictures from their phones, camera, and social media pages, there is a resource available that eliminates the “Send me that funny pic of my sister!” emails.

WeddingSnap  www.weddingsnap.com  allows you to create an online album for your event, all your guests have to do it download the app and upload your special code. Every photo that is taken through the app will be automatically uploaded to your album in real time! No tagging required. You can also order “save the code” cards for your guests so they don’t forget to use the app.

So there you have it; one less thing for you to sweat about. Pick your package on weddingsnap.com and get started. I see great pictures in your future 🙂

Refreshing Red, White and Blue

Happy Wednesday!

Don’t we all wish to have a holiday in the middle of the week? Today is the 4th of July, the holiday that celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

(NOTE: Thank a soldier today for our freedom…they deserve it.)

For those of you that are scrambling around this morning, still trying to come up with festive ideas for your Independence Day soiree that will keep you cool in this blazing heat, you’re in luck!

For the kiddies, you can’t go wrong with frozen treats. Red  (cherry, cranberry, reapberry), white (white peach, coconut, yogurt), and blue (Gatorade, Kool-Aid), freeze together and add a stick.

Moma Nature offers a plethora of options as well; strawberries, cherries, raspberries, bananas, and blueberries can be added with whipped creme for a delicious parfait.

For those that choose to imbibe, mix up blue curacao, peach schnapps, and grenadine.
